Kim
creates abstracts in acrylic and oil.  He livies in Belleville, IL and studied music at the Berklee College of Music in Boston and studied art at the Boston Museum School of Fine Arts.  His work is an expression of himself.  Some of his work is very intuitive and can be spontaneous which sometimes leads to complicated and abstract pieces.  He sometimes combines his music and art backgrounds by incorporating a short musical composition into his abstract work through painting the "theory" he feels from the composition.  While some of his paintings are accomplished with traditional methods, his abstract style and striking results are anything but traditional.  Kim also works with block art by painting individual block pieces and then scanning these onto photos and arranging these on larger backgrounds to form the individual pieces into well-designed quality compositions.

Bold. Bright. Fun.  Jackie’s art and photography encompasses all of the above.  Raised on Eastern Long Island, she began her professional career in her early teens as an illustrator for New York’s Newsday newspaper. While obtaining a Bachelor’s degree from James Madison University’s School of Art, Jackie concentrated in drawing and painting. During the last 25 years she has used her creativity as a portrait and commercial photographer, costume designer and a painter in both acrylics and watercolors.  Open to the challenge of all projects and mediums, her passion is in illustrative works for children. Clinton shares “I love inspiring young minds to think outside the box. When you surround kids with unexpected use of color and whimsical designs, their imaginations become limitless.”  After extensive travel living around the world with her husband, an Air Force pilot, and four children, the Clinton family is now happy to find their home in Southern IL.

My goal is not to repeat reality, but to recreate the feeling of joy through the use of oil and acrylics.  I take simple objects that represent moments in life and use color relationships to depict different moods.  In my art and life, color is supreme.  I usually implement warm reds, oranges, and yellows which radiate fun, cozy, humorous feelings and passion everyone can enjoy.  In many paintings I build layers of paint, found objects, and resin to create abstract images with depth.

In many of my pieces I use brass wire to define the lines of the work.  I fill in the spaces between the wire with a variety of acrylic gels and pastes which I texturize.  When the base is dry, I apply color over the textured surfaces using acrylic paints.  The completed work is finished with several layers of acrylic varnishes, producing an enamel-like finish.  I incorporate collage into some of my pieces.  My subject matter includes still life, nature, homes, stories, and the human form.  Many of my images are stylized.  My work visually explores the joys, hopes, griefs and anxieties of our age.    (Note Barb is a graduate of Yale Divinity School and has received a PhD in Urban Studies from Cleveland State university.  She is grateful to the many teachers who have encouraged her over the years..

I’m originally from Freeburg, but now reside in Lebanon.  I am married and am a stay-at-home mom.  Besides chasing after my son all day, I specialize in creative side jobs like the art you see here, and photography (ask my husband how much he loves famly photo shoots), and painting murals.   My other hobbies includes reading journalling, cooking, gardening (although I only had two tomatoes in my garden all summer), hiking fishing and swimming and jogging.  If  you can’t tell I love the outdoors.  Antiquing and thrift store shopping are also a favorite of mine.  I’m also a big family person.  My sister and I love to plan monthly family get-togethers.  My husband said he was marrying into the “Walton” family.  Well – enjoy the art.  Ciao!

I am an artist working just outside of St. Louis. In 2009, I earned a bachelors degree in Art Education from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. After graduating, I worked briefly as an art instructor, and I am currently employed with a professional art handling company…..  Many of the ideas behind my work were conceived in the summer 2008 while studying photography abroad in Ireland. Throughout the trip, I began noticing things I would normally overlook. I found that life is more rewarding when we slow down, stop worrying about the next step, and experience that particular moment which will never again be obtainable. I realized beautiful things happen right before our eyes that we often never see.

"Mystery is at the heart of creativity. That, and surprise.“  Julia Cameron.  I love the process of painting. . .and I am constantly amazed when my paintings begin to take on a life of their own. I'm never quite sure what the end result will be. . .and of course, I'm not always pleased. But I do always enjoy the process.  Thank you for looking at my work. Each piece is an original and will come signed.
